College Preparation

PHAA is a great place to prepare for your college experience. The most important part of college application is staying up-to-date and informed on the changing college world. PHAA is here to help as much as possible. This page is a great place to start your future.

PHAA's Academic Program Information can be found in the School Handbook. It covers eligibility requirements, class credits, and graduation eligibility.

Colleges will be looking a variety of information before you are accepted. To assist with preparation for this, this college preparation checklist can be used throughout your high school career. Another requirement for admission is standardized testing, the PSAT, SAT, and ACT. These tests are used by colleges to gauge your acadmemic skills. Colleges also require you to complete certain high school classes, which varies based on the college. The University of California system, the California State University system, and La Sierra use the a-g list of courses to outline necessary classes. PHAA offers the complete a-g list of classes. To prove your satisfactory completion, you must request a transcript from the registrar, and send it to the college. To be sure of all requirements, research the colleges you are interested in and contact them if you are unsure of any requirements.
